Joan, Columbia, 19
My most defining moment in London was the first day, because I realized that I am alone. Fortunately I met some people of Spain in restaurants and also from the school which motivated me. In my free- time I watch movies, play guitar since 7 years and of course visit tourist places in London. A perfect day is for me to be rich and healthy. I am a quiet and shy person but to get in contact with other people from other cultures excites me. So the reason why I came here is to learn the language very well for going to the university in Columbia. And one day I would like to play good football and learn Italian.
Preeyahan, Thailand, 23
Meeting with my friends and cooking Thai food are my favourite things to do here. In my first day here in London I was really sad. I called my mother because I missed her. But day by day I came in contact with other people and now luckily I don’t have the feeling to be alone. London is the capital of England and so there are many possibilities to spend your time in different places like in pubs, visiting sights, and eat food from other cultures. Thanks to the school I also met students from my country which made me happier. The perfect day for me is to have enough money and get a successful career. I’m here for a longer time so I want to improve my skills in speaking, listening, writing because English is the most important language for me.
Carlos, Columbia, 17
Here in London there are so many places to visit important places like the Tower Bridge, London Eye and Camden Town. Fortunately lots of the museums are free! The perfect day for me looks like to be in a sunny day and to relax the whole day. Happily I don’t get any difficulties in finding the places which I search. The tube is very well-organized. You can go everywhere you want. I think it’s good to be far away from my parents because I can be independent and collect experiences. In the school I met lots of students from other countries. I like that because I can learn their culture and I am constrained to speak English.
