Before the recent Coronation of King Charles III, many students at Malvern House London were intrigued to learn about the origins of King Charles III’s previous title, “The Prince of Wales”, which has since been bestowed upon his son, Prince William. The royal title is always given the heir to the throne.

Wales is a part of the United Kingdom but is a separate country from England, which it borders to the East of the island of Great Britain. Although ‘English’ is widely spoken, the national language spoken in Wales is ‘Welsh’ and the people of Wales are very proud of their national identity. Wales is a very green country of mountains, lakes, castles and great beauty. Our students were so interested in visiting, that we arranged a 3-day tour for those that would like to visit. Our students spent 3 days exploring the towns of Llandudno, Betws-y-Coed and Conwy, and the fabulous vistas of the Snowdonia National Park.

Our students were accompanied by one of our longest serving teachers – Steven Harrop – so though they may have learned a few new Welsh words, we have no fear that their English Language skills suffered while they were gone!
