Homestay accommodation is a great opportunity to live with locals who can teach you things that you could never learn in a classroom. You will be immersed in UK culture and have to speak English at all times. You will also get no end of tips and advice from the London locals.

Homestay providers are as varied as the houses and flats that they live in. You may stay with a young family with children and pet dog, or with a couple who have recently retired from working, or a single professional person or a variant of all three. All hosts are vetted and visited regularly by our dedicated Accommodation Team.

Homestay accommodation is categorized by which zone of London they live in and the amenities they make available to students in their home.

Typically, there are more homestay hosts in the Zone 2, 3 and 4 than in Central London. These are mainly more rural areas outside the centre that are quieter and more spacious.

Depending on your preferences and budget, you can choose if you would like a single room with a shared bathroom or private bathroom, and your preferred catering type – Half-Board, Bed & Breakfast, or Self-Catering. Laundry facilities and Wi-Fi are always available, and arrangements can also be made for female only homestays.

U18s

  • Arrangements can also be made for a homestay hosts that are able to accommodate 16- and 17-year-old students.
  • For NCUK student only: As part of ‘Guardianship’ in the UK, it is necessary for students under the age of 18 to have specific homestay hosts that have completed the necessary training and background checks. To organise these stays, advanced notice is required.
